The painter David Roberts, witness to this epic, immortalized them in his notebook, noting: “We are a people of dwarves visiting a nation of giants”. The first moments of ancient Egypt reveal its unique cosmogony, a rich narration of the genesis of the world where the sacred forces of the gods confront each other and come to life on the walls of the Workshop of Enlightenment, until the advent of the first men on earth.

The crossing continues along the Nile, sacred river and source of life. The rhythm of floods and seasons gives rise to the fertile silt essential for the flourishing of luxuriant fauna and flora. The daily life of ancient Egypt is revealed through splendid bas-reliefs, paintings and ancient papyri.
The pyramids, gigantic construction sites and marvels of ancient architecture, rise before you. Block after block, these colossal monuments pile up to form the tombs of eternal kings, guarded by the majestic Sphinx. The exceptional durability of ancient Egypt is closely linked to the pharaohs who reigned over the unified kingdom of Upper and Lower Egypt. Monumental sculptures of rulers, such as Khafre, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten and Nefertiti, dominate the space. Successive reigns were marked by mythical battles, such as that of Ramesses II at Qadech. The arms of the Nile irrigate the space with a fusion of gold, symbol of the flesh of the gods, flowing along the walls and forging the extraordinary jewels of the Egyptian sovereigns.
Across Egypt stretch hundreds of temples dedicated to multiple deities. From Luxor to Abu Simbel, these majestic complexes are cultural, spiritual, economic and political centers, where life and death are celebrated in grand processions. The Valley of the Kings reveals the famous tomb of Tutankhamun, while the Valley of the Queens is home to dazzling jewels, such as the tomb of Nefertari.
